Unreal Engine Gameplay Prototype — local gameplay systems demo
Experimental Unreal Engine 5 project focused on driving, contracts, HUD, environment blockout and gameplay interactions.
Problem
A gameplay prototype needs a playable loop, spatial blockout, HUD feedback and mission mechanics before visual polish or a public build make sense.
Goal
Prototype a small open-world gameplay flow with driving, contract markers, HUD information and interaction systems in Unreal Engine 5.

Key features
- Driving systems and vehicle-oriented camera work.
- Mission and contract mechanics around in-world markers.
- HUD elements for tasks, compass, radar, life and ammunition.
- Open-world blockout with roads, city-like volumes and lighting tests.
- Gameplay interaction systems for objectives and player feedback.
- Performance and gameplay experimentation inside the editor and playable preview.
Technical decisions
- The project stays local because it is an early gameplay prototype, not a packaged public release.
- Blockout-first production keeps attention on scale, navigation and mission flow before art polish.
- HUD and objective feedback are tested early so gameplay direction is readable while driving.
What I learned
- Planning gameplay through systems instead of isolated visuals.
- Working with Unreal editor workflows, scene organization and playable preview loops.
- Designing HUD feedback for movement, objectives and player orientation.
- Separating prototype validation from final art, polish and packaging.
Next improvements
- Package a small playable build when the loop is stable enough to share.
- Refine vehicle handling, objective triggers and mission pacing.
- Add clearer onboarding and audio/visual feedback.
- Document the Blueprint structure before expanding the prototype.
Limitations
This is a local experimental prototype. It has no public demo or repository and is included as a technical/gameplay preview, not a finished game.
